SEAWave at Science Week in France: Engaging the Public at ‘Parvis des Sciences’

During Science Week in France, the SEAWave partner CEA (France), participated in Parvis des Sciences in Grenoble, an event that welcomed over 1,450 visitors across two days. On the first day, approximately 500 high school students attended, while on the second day the event attracted a broad audience of enthusiastic attendees.

Dr. Serge Boris (CEA group leader in SEAWave) and his colleagues present the DEVIN UL exposimeter

At the booth of CEA, titled “Visualize the EM waves emitted from your mobile!”, attendees used the SEAWave DEVIN UL exposimeter to visualize on a screen the transmission power of their mobile phones in real-time. The new version of DEVIN UL exposimeter is one of the key deliverables of SEAWave.

The event allowed the audience to actively engage with the equipment and gain an understanding of the basic principles behind assessing exposure to electromagnetic fields.
